Hiring! Our client, Geelong Trailer Sales, is an established trailer manufacturer and supplier based in Geelong, Victoria, specialising in the manufacture, customisation and repair of a wide range of trailers. The business manufactures various trailer types, including tandem, machinery, heavy-duty, car-carrier, enclosed, tipper and tradesman trailers, and also provides custom-built trailer solutions to meet specific customer requirements. As part of their ongoing operations and continued growth, they are seeking a skilled and experienced Welder to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding, assembling and repairing steel components used in the manufacture and maintenance of trailers, ensuring completed work meets required specifications, structural integrity and quality standards.

- Position: Welder
- Salary: $80,000 plus Superannuation
- Job Type: Permanent, Full Time.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform welding of steel components and sections used in the manufacture, assembly and repair of trailers.
- Prepare, position, align and assemble metal components prior to welding in accordance with specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications to determine welding requirements.
- Join metal sections and components using appropriate welding techniques and equipment.
- Inspect completed welds for accuracy, penetration,



strength and overall quality.
- Repair damaged or worn trailer components using appropriate welding techniques.
- Grind, clean and smooth welded joints and surfaces to achieve the required finish.
- Operate and maintain welding equipment, hand tools and associated workshop equipment safely and effectively.
- Work collaboratively with other workshop team members to complete trailer manufacturing and repair work efficiently.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE and protected handling of materials and equipment.

Required Skills and Experience:

- Relevant trade qualification in welding/fabrication, such as Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant professional experience in welding or metal fabrication.
- Demonstrated experience in welding and assembling metal components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications.
- Sound knowledge of welding techniques, equipment and workshop practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to inspect completed welds and identify defects or required rectification.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Previous experience in trailer manufacturing, steel fabrication or a similar fabrication environment will be highly regarded.
