The Learn to Swim Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of all learn to swim and school programs including overseeing student progression and program effectiveness, facilities management, supervision and training staff, class scheduling, rostering and general administration.

Key responsibilities

Lead by example and provide guidance and support to staff

Create and maintain a positive work environment in line with Menai Swim Academy's values

Supervise swim school instructors, lead instructors, and lifeguards to ensure program quality is delivered consistently across all seven days of the week

Ensure all classes are delivered on a weekly basis with appropriate staffing, including standing in for staff as required

Monitor staff and teacher course candidates and determine suitable training sessions to improve instructor lesson delivery

Assist to maintain the qualification register and ensure all staff obtain and maintain adequate qualifications

Monitor student history to ensure flow through levels is quick but not compromising quality

Ensure all equipment required to effectively deliver the program is available and in satisfactory operating condition

Ensure Menai Swim Academy facilities are maintained in a secure,



professional and functional condition

Perform the necessary reporting, testing and maintenance required to ensure pool water quality meets Menai Swim Academy's standards and complies with government regulations

About you

Current teaching of swimming and water safety qualification (e.g. Austswim, Swim Australia)

Current teaching of Infants and Pre-schoolers

Current First Aid

Current Play by the Rules Child Protection and Harassment & Discrimination modules

Current and cleared New South Wales employment Working with Children Check

Current NSW Driver's License

Minimum 3 years swim teaching experience

Minimum 2 years experience as a swim school lead instructor

A highly collaborative and influential communicator who builds trust easily and develops meaningful relationships at all levels

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make tough decisions when necessary
