About the Role

Our client, a reputable law firm in Queenstown, is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Paralegal specializing in Civil Litigation. This role is vital in supporting the litigation team by managing case files, conducting legal research, and assisting with document preparation. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth progression of cases from initiation through to trial or settlement. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated paralegal to gain valuable experience and contribute to a respected legal practice in the Eastern Cape, working within a supportive and professional team environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist attorneys in managing civil litigation caseloads, from initial filing to discovery and trial preparation.
- Conduct legal research on relevant statutes, case law, and legal precedents.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence under attorney supervision.
- Organize and maintain case files, evidence, and discovery materials systematically.
- Schedule depositions, client interviews, and court appearances.
- Communicate with clients,



opposing counsel, and court staff as directed by attorneys.
- Prepare trial binders and assist attorneys during court proceedings.

Requirements

- Relevant legal qualification (e.g., Diploma in Paralegal Studies or LLB).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, with a strong focus on civil litigation.
- Proficiency in legal research databases and case management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of court rules and procedures.
