About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Security Engineer to enhance their security posture across their cloud infrastructure in Queenstown . You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust security controls to protect sensitive data and systems from evolving threats. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud security principles, threat detection, incident response, and compliance frameworks. You will work collaboratively with IT operations and development teams to ensure security is integrated throughout the cloud lifecycle, contributing to a secure and resilient digital workplace.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement, and maintain security solutions for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures for cloud infrastructure.
- Monitor cloud environments for security threats, vulnerabilities, and compliance deviations.
- Lead incident response efforts for security breaches and data loss events.
- Implement and manage security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability scanners.




- Collaborate with engineering teams to embed security best practices into development and deployment processes (DevSecOps).

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in cloud security engineering or a related security role.
- Hands-on experience with security configurations and best practices for major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proficiency with security tools and technologies, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, WAF, and encryption.
- Understanding of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to respond effectively to security incidents.
