About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Specialist to join their engineering department in Queenstown, Eastern Cape . This role focuses on the detailed design and development of mechanical components and systems, contributing to the innovation and improvement of existing product lines. You will utilize advanced CAD tools and analytical techniques to ensure designs meet rigorous performance and quality standards. Key Responsibilities

- Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD software.
- Perform mechanical analysis , including stress, strain, and thermal calculations, to verify design integrity.
- Collaborate with R&D;, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure designs are optimized for production and functionality.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including BOMs, specifications, and design reports.
- Support prototyping activities and conduct design validation testing to confirm performance.




- Identify opportunities for design improvements and cost reductions.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design and CAD modeling.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar.
- Experience with FEA tools for design validation is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;).
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills for work in Queenstown .
