Job description

We are seeking a skilled, compassionate and confident Registered Nurse to join our team and provide high-quality, person-centred care to our residents. As the Registered Nurse in charge, you will provide clinical leadership, direction and support to the care team during your shift and take responsibility for ensuring residents receive safe, responsive and appropriate nursing care.

This is an opportunity for an RN who enjoys combining hands‑on nursing with clinical leadership and supporting others to deliver excellent care.

Key responsibilities

- Act as the Registered Nurse in charge, providing clinical leadership, guidance and support to care workers and other members of the team.
- Assess residents’ health and clinical needs and respond appropriately to deterioration, incidents, escalated concerns and medical emergencies.
- Provide and oversee complex nursing care, including clinical assessments, wound care, medication management, pain management and other nursing interventions within your scope of practice.
- Develop, review and implement individualised care plans in partnership with residents, families and the broader healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with prescribed instructions, policies and skilled standards.
- Monitor residents’ health status, document clinical observations and ensure changes or concerns are appropriately escalated and followed up.
- Coordinate with GPs, allied health professionals, hospitals, families and other healthcare providers to support continuity of care.
- Provide clear clinical direction and delegation to care workers, supporting them to recognise and report changes in residents’ condition.
- Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies and make appropriate clinical decisions within your scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical documentation.
- Support residents and families to understand care options,



treatments and changes in health needs.
- Contribute to a positive culture of safety, dignity, respect and continuous improvement.

About you

You will be a capable and compassionate Registered Nurse who is comfortable taking clinical responsibility and leading a team during your shift.

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Relevant nursing qualifications.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical‑thinking skills.
- Confidence managing complex care, clinical deterioration and emergency situations.
- The ability to lead, delegate and provide clinical guidance to care staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with residents, families and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
- Strong documentation, care planning and medication‑management skills.
- A genuine commitment to person‑centred care and supporting residents to maintain their dignity, choice and quality of life.

Relevant experience in aged care, community care or another clinical environment involving complex nursing needs would be highly regarded.

Requirements

You will be required to have a valid police or NDIS check and may be required to complete a health check questionnaire as part of suitability checks.

Salary and location

Salary: up to $120,000 annual base + 12% super.

Location: Waverley (leafy suburb of Sydney).
