Head of Sales | Construction Labour Hire

Win the business. Shape the strategy. Build the sales function.

Vertex Workforce is expanding its construction labour hire operations and is looking for a Head of Sales to lead its next stage of commercial growth.

This is a role for someone who knows how to turn relationships into profitable, repeat business. You will work directly with the owners, identify where Vertex can compete and win, and personally develop new client partnerships. As the business grows, you will help put the sales structure, reporting and team in place to support that growth.

The opportunity

Vertex supplies workers to the construction market and is building the capability to support a larger client base across more locations. The Head of Sales will be central to that growth.

Your early focus will be on opening doors, understanding what contractors need from a labour hire partner and converting opportunities into sustainable accounts. You will also help define how Vertex targets clients, manages its pipeline, prices work and measures sales performance.

You will be close enough to the business to see the effect of the work you win. Success will depend on strong relationships with the recruitment and operations teams, so that client commitments translate into reliable workforce delivery.

What you will do

- Win new clients across construction, civil, infrastructure and related sectors.
- Build relationships with builders, contractors and other workforce decision-makers across Sydney.
- Grow existing accounts by understanding upcoming projects, labour requirements and service needs.
- Take a commercial lead on proposals, tenders, pricing and contract discussions.




- Manage opportunities from first conversation through to agreement and ongoing account growth.
- Build a disciplined sales pipeline, with clear forecasts, targets and reporting.
- Work with recruitment and operations to match sales opportunities with delivery capacity.
- Help establish the sales processes and team needed as Vertex expands.

About You:

You are a hands-on business developer and a capable sales leader. You can talk clearly about clients you have personally won, the relationships you have grown and the revenue and gross margin your work has generated.

Your background may be in labour hire, workforce solutions, construction services or another closely related B2B market. What matters is that you understand how to win work, price it sensibly and build client trust over time.

You will also bring:

- The confidence to prospect, attend client meetings and develop opportunities yourself.
- Strong commercial judgement across pricing, tenders, contracts and account profitability.
- A structured approach to pipeline management, forecasting and follow-through.
- The ability to work closely with delivery teams and solve client problems promptly.
- An interest in building a sales function, while remaining active in the market.

Existing relationships in Sydney construction, civil, infrastructure, scaffolding or facilities would be an advantage.
