About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned Senior Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to join their remote-first security team, supporting operations relevant to Queenstown. This critical role involves monitoring security alerts, detecting threats, and responding to security incidents in real-time to protect the organization's digital infrastructure. You will be instrumental in analyzing complex security events, providing expert guidance during investigations, and contributing to the continuous improvement of SOC processes and technologies. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced SOC professional to work remotely and make a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor security alerts and events from various sources (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, etc.) to detect and analyze threats.
- Investigate security incidents, perform forensic analysis, and lead containment and eradication efforts.
- Develop and refine detection rules and correlation logic within the SIEM platform.
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior SOC analysts.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of incident response playbooks and procedures.
- Stay current with the latest threat intelligence, attack vectors,



and cybersecurity trends.
- Participate in on-call rotation for incident response outside of standard business hours.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) setting, with a focus on threat detection and incident response.
- In-depth knowledge of SIEM tools, network protocols, operating systems, and common attack techniques.
- Experience with forensic analysis tools and methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Relevant certifications such as GCIH, GCIA, or equivalent are highly valued.
