Job Description

Provides onsite technical support and hardware repair services across Cairns and surrounding areas.

Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs laptops, desktops, and related IT hardware.

n

Replaces hardware components including motherboards, screens, keyboards, batteries, SSDs, memory, and other field-replaceable parts.

n

Performs hardware diagnostics, BIOS and firmware updates, system testing, and validation activities.

n

Manages assigned service calls, parts inventory, schedules, and travel requirements efficiently.

n

Completes service documentation accurately and within required timeframes.

n

Works independently while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and professionalism.

n

Communicates effectively with customers, service delivery teams, and technical support groups.

n

Follows customer-specific processes, safety requirements, and service level commitments.

n

Meets SLA targets while delivering a positive customer experience.

n

Key Qualifications

n

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification.

n

Technical certification,



Associate Degree, or relevant vocational training preferred.

n

1-2 years of experience in computer hardware repair, field services, desktop support, or technical support environments.

n

Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills across laptop and desktop hardware.

n

Experience installing and replacing hardware components such as motherboards, screens, batteries, keyboards, SSDs, and memory modules.

n

Good understanding of Windows operating systems and desktop computing environments.

n

Experience working with Dell, Lenovo, or other major OEM hardware platforms is highly desirable.

n

Robust customer service, communication, and documentation skills.

n

Ability to work independently and manage multiple onsite service requests.

n

Current Australian Driver's Licence and willingness to travel throughout the Cairns region.

n

OEM or manufacturer certifications are advantageous.
