About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join their team near Queenstown . This role is focused on the design, implementation, and maintenance of control systems and instrumentation for industrial processes. You will play a key part in ensuring the accurate measurement, monitoring, and control of critical operational parameters, optimizing plant performance and safety. This is a dynamic position that requires a deep understanding of both electrical engineering principles and automation technologies, offering the chance to work on diverse and challenging projects within a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, configure, and commission process control systems, including DCS and SCADA systems.
- Select, calibrate, and maintain various types of instrumentation, such as sensors, transmitters, and control valves.
- Develop and implement control strategies to optimize process efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation and control system issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Collaborate with process engineers and operations teams to understand control requirements and implement improvements.




- Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices in instrumentation and control engineering.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering, preferably in an industrial setting.
- Proficiency with DCS, PLC, and SCADA system configuration and programming.
- Strong knowledge of process control theory, loop tuning, and control valve sizing.
- Experience with various sensor technologies and communication protocols (e.g., HART, Modbus).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
