About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Telecommunications Engineer specializing in Transmission systems to join their team in Queenstown . This critical role will involve the design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of the company's core transmission network, ensuring robust and high-capacity data flow across the region. You will work with cutting-edge technologies to build and manage the backbone of our client's telecommunications services, playing a vital part in network reliability and future scalability. Key Responsibilities

- Design and engineer transmission network solutions, including fiber optic, microwave, and other transport technologies.
- Plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and cutovers with minimal service impact.
- Monitor network performance, analyze traffic patterns, and implement optimizations for capacity and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex transmission network faults, ensuring rapid restoration of services.
- Develop and maintain detailed network designs, documentation,



and configuration standards.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams and vendors on integration and new technology deployment.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, deploying, and managing telecom transmission networks.
- In-depth knowledge of DWDM, OTN, SDH/SONET, microwave radio, and IP networking principles.
- Experience with transmission planning tools and network simulation software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to fault resolution.
- Familiarity with vendor equipment (e.g., Nokia, Huawei, Ciena) is advantageous.
