About The Department

The Surgical Process Services (SPS) department handles the decontamination, packaging, sterilisation, and storage of reusable medical devices for seven operating rooms, the Day Procedure Centre (DPC), and various hospital wards and clinics.

About The Role

As an Instrument Technician you will collaborate with experienced management and clinical teams in an autonomous, supportive environment.

Responsibilities

- Ensure strict adherence to sterilisation practices and infection control standards.
- Clean, wash, pack, wrap, and sterilise instruments, equipment and consumables used across operating theatres, DPC, wards and outpatient clinics.

Qualifications

- Grade 2: Hold a Certificate III in Sterilising Services.
- Demonstrate 1–2 years of clinical experience as an Instrument Technician.
- Solid understanding of infection control requirements and the Australian Sterilising Standard (AS/NZS5369).




- Proven experience in a fast‑paced sterile processing hospital workplace.
- Expertise in sterilisation procedures, practices and standards.
- Familiarity with instrumentation and use of tracking systems.
