Our client is a leading superannuation fund with an active credit strategy with a multi-billion dollar allocation. This role is for a senior operator, who can bring expertise to the team from prior experience in credit investing. The mandate covers domestic and global credit across the spectrum; this includes investment grade, high yield, distressed and special situations credit investing, in both liquid and illiquid markets. We are seeking a candidate who has experience ideally in a similar environment, with track record in manager selection in credit products. Experience across public and private credit would be valued, or prior investment experience for the co-investment aspect of the role would also be practical.
Key Responsibilities:
- Researching, assessing, and monitoring external credit managers across global public and private credit, this is the primary focus of the role
- Evaluating opportunities across the risk spectrum, forming a view on strategy, process,
team and portfolio fit
- Supporting underwriting and due diligence on co-investments, with the team reviewing roughly one deal a month
- Analysing individual credits including structure, downside and relative value
- Contributing to portfolio research, investment analysis and idea generation across a global credit opportunity set
Required Experience:
- Approximately 10+ years in credit, private credit, manager research, or an adjacent investment role
- Demonstrated experience assessing credit strategies, managers or underlying credit exposures
- Familiarity with credit underwriting and a genuine appetite to develop further in that area
- Strong intellectual curiosity, sound judgement and the ability to think beyond a narrow current remit
