Founded in 1983, Swan Christian College is a co-educationalChristian school in Swan Valley, educating around 1,800 studentsfrom Kindergarten to Year 12. The College focuses on developingcharacter and academic excellence with Christ-centred educationthat nurtures the whole child.
Swan Christian College is seeking a passionate and dedicatedEnglish Teacher to join our SecondarySchool teaching team in a full-time, permanentposition commencing 1 January 2027.
This is not just a role, it’s a sacred opportunity to inspirecritical-thinking, creativity, and communication skills in youngpeople. You will teach with purpose and conviction, sowing seeds offaith and learning that will shape lives for eternity.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that drive studentgrowth and provide targeted remediation and extensionopportunities.
- Engage students behaviourally, emotionally and cognitivelyin a positive learning environment.
- Monitor progress, maintain accurate academic records, anduse data to inform teaching decisions.
- Provide timely feedback and reporting to students, parentsand College leadership through reports, SEQTA and parentevents.
- Demonstrate genuine care for students’ spiritual,emotional, social and academic wellbeing.
- Contribute to College life through duties, events andmeetings while adhering to College policies.
Essential Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrates a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christand is an active member of a Christian Church,
living inaccordance with the Association’s Statement of Faith andEducational Objectives.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with families,College staff and key stakeholders.
- Communicate confidently and professionally, demonstratingoutstanding interpersonal skills.
- Manage competing priorities effectively, staying organisedand responsive in a fast-paced setting.
- Show initiative, solve problems proactively and make sounddecisions while working collaboratively and followingdirection.
- Holds a current Working with Children Check and valid TRBWAregistration, or willingness to apply for one.
Desirable SelectionCriteria:

- A demonstrated ability to effectively deliver the WAEnglish Curriculum.
- Effective organizational skills in lesson planning,marking, and reporting.
- Be competent in the use of technology applications in aneducational setting.
- ATAR experience is preferred but not essential.
