About the role

We are seeking an experienced Light Vehicle Technician (Mechanic) to join our team at our Somersby, NSW location on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a variety of light vehicles to ensure they meet safety standards and perform optimally. This is a hands-on position that plays a crucial part in maintaining our reputation for quality workmanship and customer service. You will work in a professional workshop environment, utilising diagnostic equipment and hand tools to complete repairs and maintenance tasks efficiently and safely.

Key responsibilities

- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in light vehicles using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge
- Perform routine servicing including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups, and tyre rotations
- Repair and replace vehicle components such as brakes, suspension, batteries, alternators, and belts
- Conduct vehicle inspections and safety checks in accordance with Australian standards
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work completed
- Communicate effectively with customers about repair requirements, timelines, and costs




- Operate and maintain workshop equipment and tools responsibly
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and workshop procedures
- Contribute to a safe and collaborative workshop environment

What we're looking for

- Current or relevant light vehicle mechanical qualifications (such as an automotive trade certificate or equivalent)
- Proven experience working as a light vehicle technician or mechanic in a professional workshop setting
- Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures
- Competency with diagnostic equipment and workshop tools
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transport to and from work
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards
- Knowledge of current automotive regulations and industry best practices is advantageous
