About the role

You'll work closely with the owner and Head Chef, with genuine autonomy to run the café, lead the team and ensure our customers consistently receive a great experience.

This is a hands-on management position . You'll be leading from the floor, making coffee during service, supporting the team through busy periods and taking overall responsibility for the smooth day-to-day operation of the café.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys running a café and leading a team, while still being hands-on in service.

You’ll ideally have:

- Previous experience as a Café Manager, Venue Manager or experienced Assistant Manager

- Strong senior barista skills and confidence running a busy coffee service

- Experience leading, coaching and developing a hospitality team

- Excellent customer service and complaint-resolution skills

- Solid organisational and communication skills

- Experience with rostering, labour management, stock control and ordering

- Commercial awareness and an understanding of café performance

- Confidence managing staff performance and maintaining standards

- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational issues

- High standards around cleanliness, presentation, coffee and service

- The ability to work closely and collaboratively with the Head Chef





- Reliability and a genuine sense of ownership for the venue

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is present, calm and hands-on - someone who can lead a busy service, support the team and make good decisions when the owner isn’t onsite.

Hours & roster

This is a full time, approximately 38-40 hour position across five days .

The intended roster is Thursday to Monday , including Saturday and Sunday.

As weekend leadership and coffee coverage are an important part of this position, Saturday and Sunday availability is essential .
