About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Chemical Engineer to lead the critical function of New Product Scale-Up at their facility in Queenstown. This role is instrumental in translating innovative laboratory discoveries into robust, commercially viable manufacturing processes. You will work closely with R&D; and production teams to design, pilot, and implement new chemical processes, ensuring they are efficient, safe, and scalable. This position offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the company's growth by bringing new products to market successfully, requiring a blend of strong technical skills, practical problem-solving, and effective project coordination.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the scale-up of new chemical products from laboratory to pilot and commercial production.
- Design and execute pilot plant trials, collecting and analyzing data to validate process parameters.
- Develop P&IDs;, mass and energy balances, and equipment specifications for new processes.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop safe operating procedures for new product introductions.




- Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams on equipment selection and plant design.
- Troubleshoot scale-up challenges and implement solutions to ensure successful commercialization.

Requirements

- Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in process development and scale-up, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience with pilot plant operations and experimental design.
- Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and separation technologies.
- Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
