About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Compliance Officer to join their remote-first organization, supporting operations nationwide from a base near Queenstown. This critical role involves developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive compliance programs to ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. You will lead compliance initiatives, conduct risk assessments, and advise senior management on compliance matters. Key Responsibilities

- Develop, implement, and manage the company's overall compliance program, including policies, procedures, and training.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk.
- Investigate compliance issues, report findings, and recommend corrective actions.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors on compliance-related matters.
- Stay abreast of changes in relevant legislation and regulations,



ensuring timely updates to compliance strategies.
- Provide guidance and training to employees on compliance requirements and best practices.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CCEP) is a strong asset.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in compliance, risk management, or legal roles, preferably within a corporate setting.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing robust compliance programs.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (e.g., POPIA, GDPR, industry-specific regulations).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills, essential for remote collaboration.
