$130,000 – $150,000 + Super – Full-Time – Permanent – Onsite

Are you an experienced Facilities Manager, Maintenance Manager or Engineering Manager ready to take ownership of a complex, multi-site environment?

We’re recruiting for a Facilities & Maintenance Manager with a leading independent school in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. This is a senior, hands-on leadership opportunity overseeing facilities and maintenance across multiple campuses, sporting venues and additional properties.

About the Organisation

Our client is a leading independent school with a well-established and well-resourced facilities setting. The Facilities team plays a critical role in keeping the organisation’s buildings, grounds and services safe, functional and ready to support students, staff and major events.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Director of Facilities, you’ll lead a team of five and take ownership of day-to-day facilities operations as well as longer-term maintenance and future works planning.

This is a broad role covering planned and reactive maintenance, contractor management, OPEX, minor projects, building systems, compliance and operational support across multiple sites.

The role will suit someone who enjoys being hands-on while also having the leadership, commercial and organisational skills to manage competing priorities and influence senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and develop a team of five across facilities and maintenance
- Manage preventative, reactive and planned maintenance programs
- Own the facilities OPEX budget, including forecasting and cost control
- Manage contractors,



suppliers and service delivery
- Oversee minor works and projects from scoping through to delivery
- Lead building upgrades and future works planning
- Administer CMMS and BMS platforms
- Oversee C-Bus / automated lighting systems
- Manage invoicing and contractor payments
- Support emergency planning and site warden responsibilities
- Provide facilities support for school events and operational activities
- Oversee facilities requirements across the junior campus and additional property

About You

We’re looking for a practical and collaborative facilities professional with strong technical capability and proven leadership experience.

You will ideally have:

- Experience as a Facilities Manager, Senior Facilities Manager, Maintenance Manager, Engineering Manager, Estates Manager or similar
- Proven experience leading a facilities or maintenance team
- Strong experience managing OPEX budgets, contractors and minor works/projects
- Working knowledge of CMMS, BMS and building services systems
- Experience operating across a multi-site, campus or complex property environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent organisational skills
- Education, healthcare, hospitality, commercial property or corporate FM experience is highly regarded
- Current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) – mandatory

What’s on Offer?
