Argon & Co is seeking Expressions of Interest from students interested in completing a University of Queensland (UQ) work-integrated learning placement with our Brisbane team.

This is an opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in a professional environment, develop practical consulting skills and gain exposure to how organisations solve complex operational challenges.

About the internship

During your placement,



you’ll have the opportunity to apply what you’re learning at university to real business challenges and develop practical consulting skills.

Depending on the projects underway, you may have the opportunity to:

- Support analysis for live client projects
- Conduct market, industry, supplier and competitor research
- Assist with pricing evaluations and opportunity assessments
- Analyse data and identify improvement opportunities
- Support projects across procurement, manufacturing, logistics and planning
- Prepare presentations and other project deliverables
- Participate in internal project meetings and selected client activities
- Gain exposure to different industries and operational environments
- Develop practical skills in research, analysis, communication and problem-solving

You’ll work alongside experienced consultants who will provide guidance, feedback and support throughout the placement. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, learn how consultants approach real-world problems and understand how projects move from analysis through to implementation.

At the end of the placement, you’ll have the opportunity to present your work,



receive feedback and reflect on what you’ve learned and how you can apply it to your future studies and career.

About you

We are interested in students who are:

- Interested in management consulting and practical problem-solving
- Comfortable working with information, data and new concepts
- Strong communicators who can explain their thinking clearly
- Proactive, reliable and willing to learn
- Collaborative and comfortable working in a team environment

You may be studying business, commerce, economics, engineering, mathematics, analytics, supply chain, operations or a related discipline.

Previous consulting experience is not required.

Our selection process is designed to be straightforward:

- Submit your CV and a short cover letter outlining your interest in Argon & Co
- Complete an initial eligibility and availability review through the relevant UQ work-integrated learning program
- Participate in an interview with members of the Brisbane team
- Complete a psychometric assessment, where applicable
- Confirm the placement scope, timing, hours and university requirements

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Placement format

Winter or summer placement

- Ideally a full-time placement over three weeks
- Typically 80–100 hours
- Suitable for students completing a placement during a university break

Placement arrangements are subject to UQ approval and the relevant university placement requirements and agreements
