Hunter Recent England Local Health District is seeking experienced GP VMOs and CMOs to provide Emergency Department cover across rural and regional hospitals.

This role is ideal for doctors who enjoy rural medicine, want a change of scenery and value meaningful work in communities that rely on strong local emergency care.

You will be the senior decision-maker onsite, managing emergency presentations and stabilising patients for admission, retrieval or further specialist input.

Clinical Environment

- Rural and regional ED settings across Hunter New England
- Broad emergency caseload across trauma, acute medical and paediatric presentations

- Access to regional retrieval services, telehealth and specialist advice
- Well-suited to doctors confident in rural emergency practice

Requirements

- General or Specialist AHPRA Registration
- GP VMO, CMO or rural ED experience
- NSW Working with Children Check and Police Check
- Australian working rights
- Willingness to complete HNELHD onboarding and credentialing
