About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist (AHP03) for an urgent Court Liaison Officer contract with a Forensic Mental Health Service in North West Tasmania, based in Devonport. This contract runs from 5 October to 27 November 2026, working Monday to Friday days, 8:30am to 5:06pm (76 hours per fortnight). No planned leave will be approved during the contract due to staffing roster requirements.

You will provide specialist forensic mental health assessment, triage and consultation within the Magistrates Courts in Burnie and Devonport, working as an integral member of the court process. You will provide timely mental health assessment and advice to the Court, legal representatives, police, corrective services and other stakeholders to facilitate protected and appropriate outcomes for individuals appearing before the Court. The role supports individuals presenting with acute mental illness, cognitive impairment, neurodevelopmental disorders, substance use concerns and significant psychosocial complexity.

- Pay Rate: $70 - $85 per hour + Super
- Location: Devonport, Tasmania (servicing Burnie and Devonport Magistrates Courts)
- Contract Length: 5 October to 27 November 2026
- Work Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:06pm, 76 hours per fortnight
- No weekends,



nights or on-call

About You:

- Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist (essential)
- Experience in forensic mental health, court, justice or similar settings (essential)
- Working with Vulnerable People registration, Tasmania, or eligibility to apply (essential)
- Current driver's licence (essential)
- Available to commit to the full contract period
- Advanced clinical assessment and triage skills
- Strong communication, documentation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Eligible to work in Australia
