Paris Miki Optical Helensvale is seeking a friendly and customer-focused Optical Sales Assistant to join our team on a casual basis. Based in Helensvale, QLD, this role is perfect for individuals looking for flexible work in the retail optical sector. You will be at the heart of our store operations, providing exceptional customer service whilst supporting the sales and administrative functions of our optical practice. This position plays a vital role in creating a welcoming environment for our customers and ensuring they receive expert guidance when selecting their eyewear solutions.
Key responsibilities
Greeting customers warmly upon arrival and understanding their eyewear needs and preferences
Assisting customers with frame selection, lens options and eyewear accessories
Processing customer transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
Maintaining knowledge of current optical products, promotions and pricing
Supporting the optometrist and senior staff members during eye tests and consultations
Keeping the store clean, organised and visually appealing, including restocking frames and merchandise
Handling customer inquiries regarding orders, repairs and warranty information
Assisting with administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling and record keeping
Contributing to a positive team environment and supporting colleagues as needed
What we're looking for
Previous experience in retail, customer service or a similar customer-facing role is desirable but not essential
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for helping customers
Ability to confidently work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment
Basic numeracy and computer literacy, including familiarity with point-of-sale systems
Willingness to learn about optical products and develop product knowledge
Robust organisational skills and attention to detail
Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to work varied shifts including Saturdays, and on call as required (No Sundays, No late night and No Public Holidays)
A professional appearance and grooming standards consistent with retail optical industry norms
