About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mineral Processing Engineer to join their operational team in Queenstown . This role is critical for optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of their mineral processing plants. You will be responsible for the technical oversight, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of all aspects of the processing circuits, including comminution, flotation, leaching, and separation. The position requires a deep understanding of chemical and physical processes applied to mineral extraction and a commitment to driving operational excellence on-site.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the operation and performance of mineral processing plants, ensuring production targets and quality specifications are met.
- Troubleshoot process upsets, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maximize recovery.
- Conduct process audits and develop improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product yield.
- Lead or participate in process design modifications and capital expenditure projects for plant upgrades.
- Develop and maintain process simulation models to predict and optimize plant performance.
- Ensure adherence to all safety,



health, and environmental regulations within the processing facilities.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in mineral processing operations, with a strong focus on base metals, precious metals, or industrial minerals.
- Proven expertise in process design, operation, and troubleshooting of various mineral processing unit operations.
- Experience with process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, JKsimMet).
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex process data and implement data-driven solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills for effective collaboration.
