About the role

Due to continued expansion, EGroup Protective Services Group Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Retail Security Controllers & Rovers to join our team in the Metropolitan Melbourne area. As a Security Controller or Rover with emergency management experience, you will be responsible for providing security services and ensuring the safety and security of our clients' premises and assets. These are full-time positions, working on-site in the Melbourne CBD.

Controller Duties include but are not limited to:

- Knowledge of Control room duties, CCTV, Fire Control Panel, Access Control systems

- Emergency Management Experience

- An understanding of WH&S; and the ability to identify & manage risks

- Ability to be able to communicate with multiple stakeholders at all levels

- Coordinate Rovers for locking or unlocking of areas for contractors, tenants or premises management (subject to approvals)

- Complete required audits and tests throughout the shift as required

- Ability to work in a team environment

- Must be physically fit or prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Intermediate level with Microsoft suite of products including outlook, word and excel desirable

- Administrative tasks as required, including checking for new paperwork, incident reports, handovers, hazard reports and client permits

Rover Duties include but are not limited to:

- Conducting random patrols of the premises, including internal, plant room, external and car park as specified in the SOPs and patrol schedules

- Monitoring of entry and departure of employees, customers and contractors to guard against theft and to maintain the security of the premises

- Maintain a visible presence on the common areas especially main lobby during business hours





- Performing morning unlock and evening lockup of spaces as outlined in SOPs and where applicable

- Monitor building areas whilst on patrol and report any discrepancies, including hazards, faults, damage, maintenance issues and non-compliance of properties house rules

- Respond to and deal with security incidents and or threats onsite

- Complete required audits and tests throughout the shift in accordance with the control rooms direction

- Monitor and report WHS issues encountered whilst on patrols

- Administrative tasks as required, including checking for current paperwork, incident reports, handovers, hazard reports and client permits.

About You

- Current Victorian Security Licence

- Strong communication and customer service skills

- Professional presentation suited to corporate and retail environments

- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends

- Previous corporate/retail or concierge-style security experience highly regarded
