We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Leading Hand to join our team at Isaac Downs Mine, near Moranbah, Queensland.

This is a hands-on leadership position suited to an experienced Diesel Fitter who is ready to take the next step in their career and lead a maintenance team while continuing to be actively involved in the day-to-day maintenance of our heavy mining equipment.

About the Role

As a Maintenance Leading Hand, you will play an important role in coordinating the maintenance team and ensuring equipment is maintained safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Working closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and wider site team, you will help ensure maintenance activities are planned and completed within required timeframes while supporting a strong safety and team culture.

Key responsibilities include:

- Leading and supporting a team of Diesel Fitters and maintenance personnel.

- Coordinating day-to-day maintenance activities and allocating work to the maintenance team.

- Working hands-on with the team to complete preventative maintenance, servicing, repairs and breakdowns.

- Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical faults on heavy mining equipment.

- Supporting the maintenance team with fault finding and complex mechanical issues.

- Working on Caterpillar 789D haul trucks and other heavy mobile mining equipment.





- Ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

- Completing and supporting required safety documentation, including job inspections, JSAs and SLAMs.

- Identifying and communicating safety, mechanical and maintenance issues.

- Monitoring work progress and ensuring tasks are completed within required timeframes.

- Providing guidance, support and mentoring to team members.

- Promoting a positive safety culture and leading by example.

- Working closely with Supervisors and other departments to minimise equipment downtime and maintain operational requirements.

- Supporting the development of a positive, productive and inclusive team environment.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Certificate III in Diesel Fitting Technology (Engineering) or equivalent recognised Australian trade qualification.

- Previous experience working in the mining industry, preferably within a heavy mobile equipment maintenance environment.

- Strong experience with Caterpillar 789D or similar large-scale mining equipment.

- Previous experience in a Leading Hand, Senior Fitter or similar leadership position will be highly regarded.

- Strong diagnostic, fault-finding, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance skills.





- The ability to effectively lead, coordinate and support a maintenance team.

- Strong communication and organisational skills.

- A proactive approach to problem solving and maintenance planning.

- The ability to work autonomously while also being a strong team player.

- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

- Current Australian Open Driver Licence.

- Current S11.

- QLD Coal Mine Workers' Health Scheme Assessment, or willingness to obtain.

- Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical and random drug and alcohol screening.
