We are looking for a dedicated, neurodiversity affirming Psychologist or Mental Health Social Worker seeking the advantages of private practice, but wanting to avoid the impersonal, clinical atmosphere that can sometimes come with it. We are a quirky, fun and cooperative practice, where professionalism meets a warm and casual office vibe. Want to maintain your independence, continue growing as a practitioner, and feel supported along the way? Join our team.
You do not need to already be an expert in every area we work in - curiosity, humility, and affirming values, and willingness to learn are highly valued.
Part-time position available - 2-4 days per week, with the possibility of increasing to full-time. We are open to discussing preference around days, times, and the work you'd like to do - including your client population preference, as well as your ideal assessment and/or therapy split.
Why join a group private practice instead of working solo?
Joining a group practice means you can focus entirely on clinical work, without the overhead of running a solo business. We take care of the administrative and operational side (billing, scheduling, referral management, and practice systems) so you can spend your energy on your clients and your own professional growth.
Walk into an established caseload — our existing referral networks mean you won't be starting from scratch. We'll work with you to match your client population to your areas of interest and experience.
Work alongside a team of clinicians who genuinely consult with each other. Whether you want a quick debrief after a complex session, a second opinion on a formulation, or just someone who gets it — your colleagues are here for that.
About our practice:
Evo Psychology is a private practice based in Isaacs, in Canberra's South.
At Evo Psychology, we work with a wide range of presentations. Our particular focus is on people who have experienced trauma, who struggle with emotional regulation, and those who have issues/questions relating to sexuality and/or gender. We frequently work with individuals who have been diagnosed or self identify as neurodivergent - including but not limited to clients who are Autistic, ADHDers, AuDHDers, those who have Sensory Processing Disorders, or who feel 'different' in some way.
At Evo Psychology, we are proudly neurodiversity affirming, queer friendly, trauma informed and culturally aware, celebrating all kinds of differences. We cater to the needs of our clients as individuals, in a holistic and evidence-based way, while supporting each other as clinicians to continue professional learning in areas of interest.

What a day looks like for our clinical team members:
Imagine starting your day walking into an office where the atmosphere is as warm and welcoming as a friend's living room, yet equipped with the resources and support you need to provide exceptional care.
You will see a maximum of 5 clients per day, with input from you about when you schedule your client sessions, dedicated admin time, lunch, and supervision. Your schedule is genuinely collaborative, with ongoing discussions about how your work load, session timing, and client population is feeling for you. Between sessions, you have the option (and encouragement from the team) to take a break and go for walks in the park close to our office, join in on "floor lunch" with the team, engage in your special interests, play with the new fidget toys in the office or have a quick debrief with a colleague.
Our team values open communication, continuous learning, and celebrates diversity in all its forms.
The awesome stuff you'll get as part of our team:
- A workplace culture that encourages and facilitates balance and self care (we genuinely focus on work-life balance and team culture)
- Processes in places to support integration and use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) notetaking
- Flexibility with work hours and how your work day looks
- Autonomy over your own bookings and client population - with support from our administration team
- The option of focusing on therapy clients, conducting Autism and ADHD assessments, or a combination of both
- Being part of an organisation that listens to your feedback, encourages innovative ideas, and aims to assist you in thriving as a practitioner in the areas of interest you have
- Spend less time doing administrative tasks - we use technology and automation to streamline administrative tasks, from secure digital filing to efficient appointment management (as well as lots of support from our superstar admin team). This approach minimises paperwork, allowing our clinicians to focus on providing excellent client care. Spend time focussing on what you got into this industry to do!!
- Generous remuneration - employment model with predictable income, leave and superannuation
- Convenient location with free staff parking, cafe, general store, park and walking tracks
- Supportive work environment - work in a genuinely neurodiversity affirming, diverse, inclusive, authentic and warm team
- Ability to work from home via telehealth, as clinically appropriate
