About the role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Light Vehicle Mechanic to join the team at ASAP Diesel. This is a full-time can also offer part time if required position based in Biloela, QLD 4715. As a Light Vehicle Mechanic, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing light vehicles to the highest standards, ensuring our clients receive reliable and safe vehicles. This position is central to our service delivery, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and the reputation of ASAP Diesel within the automotive trades industry.

What you'll be doing

- Performing routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups and tyre rotations

- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and equipment

- Repairing and replacing components such as brakes, suspension, exhaust systems and engines

- Conducting vehicle safety inspections and identifying potential issues

- Servicing light vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards

- Keeping accurate records of work completed and maintaining detailed service logs

- Maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment

- Adhering to health and safety regulations and best practices

What we're looking for

- A 3rd+ year apprentice or qualification in automotive mechanics or light vehicle servicing

- Proven experience working as a light vehicle mechanic in a professional workshop environment

- Strong knowledge of light vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, braking and suspension

- Proficiency with mechanical tools and diagnostic equipment

- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, service bulletins and wiring diagrams





- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- A valid driver's licence

- Knowledge of diesel engines and systems is advantageous
