THE ROLE:
The Global Corporate Operations team is responsible for delivering a broad range of corporate services that support Austrade’s operations both in Australia and across the global network. The branch brings together functions including security, consular services, property, sustainability and corporate support. Various Executive Level 1 roles exist in the following areas:
Security and Consular: The team is responsible for strengthening Austrade’s protective security framework and providing practical security support for operations and activities, in addition to coordinating and overseeing Austrade’s consular function to ensure services at Austrade-managed Consulates are consistent, resilient, and risk based. Together, these responsibilities support secure, secure, and effective delivery across Austrade’s global network.
Property: Austrade’s Property team manages the organisation’s property portfolio, including leasing, fit-outs, refurbishments, maintenance and office management for domestic and overseas commercial and residential sites. It also manages property-service transitions, budgets and lease agreements, ensures policy compliance, and supports staff postings by setting residential rent ceilings and helping secure suitable accommodation. The team has managerial responsibilities for the national network of Austrade Office Managers. Experience with P2P, SAP and managing small teams would be desirable.
Global Corporate Operations: The team is responsible for managing the Corporate Support Network, overseeing Commonwealth Service Level Agreements (SLAs),
and providing corporate services support to business areas across the organisation, including the management of Corporate Service Managers at Austrade Office’s overseas.
The roles provide an opportunity to lead complex and meaningful corporate operations work that supports Austrade’s global network and contributes directly to improved service delivery, stronger governance and a modern, safe and welcoming working environment. The roles operate under broad direction and require sound judgement, strategic thinking and the ability to manage sensitive issues, competing priorities and stakeholder expectations. They are suited to candidates who can translate strategic corporate priorities into practical outcomes, support teams through change and drive continuous improvement across corporate support services.
The majority of the available roles are Canberra based. Consideration may be given on a case-by-case basis to work from an Austrade office elsewhere in Australia.

Duties Include:
• Lead and coordinate complex corporate operations projects and initiatives that support the Branch’s strategic priorities, including service delivery reform, governance uplift and improvements to the working environment.
• Provide high-level advice, analysis and recommendations on sensitive or complex operational matters, exercising sound judgement and considering broader agency, stakeholder and risk implications.
• Develop, implement and monitor work plans, project deliverables and quality assurance processes to ensure timely, consistent and effective corporate support services across domestic and global operations.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, representing the Branch in forums, managing sensitivities and supporting cooperation through periods of change.
• Contribute to a high-performing and customer-focused team culture by supporting capability development, encouraging innovation and identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and service outcomes.
