About the role

Join a friendly, community-focused General Practice as their Lead Practice Nurse, where quality care and connection matter. You'll work alongside a close-knit team of seven GPs, two experienced nurses and three supportive admin staff, taking on a leadership role within the nursing team. Hours are 8am to 5pm, minimum 3 days a week, with flexibility to suit your lifestyle.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Primary Care Nurse ready to step into leadership, someone who enjoys variety, autonomy and being part of a genuinely collaborative practice.

- Provide leadership and guidance across the nursing team
- Support the delivery of high-quality primary care and preventative health services
- Manage long-term conditions and support patients through their care journey
- Perform cervical smears, vaccinations, wound care and ECGs
- Bring urgent care/ED experience to support acute presentations
- Contribute to a team-oriented, team-based general practice environment

Skills and Experience

Essential

- Current registration with the NZ Nursing Council
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Minimum 2+ years' experience in Primary Care in New Zealand
- Certified Cervical Smear Taker
- Authorised Vaccinator




- Proficient in wound care
- Diabetes Level 7 or equivalent diabetes training
- Previous experience in Urgent Care or Emergency Department
- Confident with ECGs and long-term condition management

Desirable

- Before School Checks experience
- Nurse Prescriber qualification
- Familiarity with Indici PMS
