Alchemy Recruitment are recruiting an experienced Precinct and Place Manager. This is an opportunity to influence the development of a nationally significant infrastructure that will transform how Australians live, work and travel.

About the opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and team-oriented professional to work across urban design, precinct planning, placemaking, strategic land use, design excellence and stakeholder engagement. Working closely with senior leadership and multidisciplinary project teams, you will coordinate technical inputs, manage specialist advisers and provide clear, practical advice to support major project development and informed decision-making.

Key responsibilities

- Coordinating precinct and place activities in accordance with agreed priorities, programs and project requirements.
- Managing activities relating to station design, urban design, placemaking, public realm, activation and strategic land use.
- Implementing design excellence processes, including design review, design intent and Designing with Country principles.
- Supporting government and stakeholder engagement and maintaining effective relationships with key partners.
- Supporting strategic station planning, land use analysis and development investigations for future projects.
- Preparing governance papers, executive briefings, reports, presentations and stakeholder communications.
- Identifying emerging issues, opportunities and dependencies and supporting their timely resolution or escalation.

About you




You will be an experienced planning, urban design, architecture, property or major infrastructure professional who enjoys working across complex and multidisciplinary environments.
You will ideally have:

- A degree qualification in urban and regional planning, urban design, architecture, landscape architecture, property, development or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience contributing to precinct planning, urban design, architecture, placemaking, property development or major infrastructure projects.
- Experience reviewing technical and design information and translating it into clear, concise and practical advice.
- Strong project coordination and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, facilitation and relationship management skills.
- Available for a 12-month contract commencing early November 2026
