Position Overview

Barrenjoey Timber is a well-established timber and building supplies business located in Mona Vale, NSW. Serving builders, tradespeople, landscapers, and residential customers across Sydney's Northern Beaches and surrounding areas, the company is known for providing quality timber products, reliable service, and expert industry knowledge.

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Store Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the retail store. This position is responsible for managing staff, maintaining excellent customer service standards, overseeing inventory and sales operations, and supporting the continued growth and success of the business.

Position Responsibilities and Tasks

- Manage the daily operations of the retail store to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Lead, supervise, and support store staff, including recruitment, training, rostering, and performance management.
- Develop and implement store procedures and operational strategies to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor sales performance and implement initiatives to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Provide high-quality customer service and assist with resolving customer enquiries, concerns, and complaints.
- Manage inventory levels, stock ordering, stock control, and product displays to ensure product availability and presentation standards are maintained.
- Coordinate deliveries, supplier relationships,



and purchasing activities to support store operations.
- Monitor budgets, operating expenses, and store financial performance.
- Ensure accurate processing of sales transactions, quotations, and customer orders.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised retail environment for customers and employees.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and relevant retail industry standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational performance, customer experience, and business outcomes.
- Work closely with business owners and management to support strategic objectives and business growth.

Qualifications and Skills

- Relevant qualification in Retail Management, Business Management, Sales, or a related field
- At least one year of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience in retail management, hardware, timber, building supplies, or a related industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience managing inventory, purchasing, stock control, and supplier relationships.
- Strong sales, budgeting, and financial management skills.
- Excellent organisational, administrative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a quick-paced retail environment and manage competing priorities.
- Sound knowledge of retail operations and customer service principles.
- Flexibility to work weekends and additional hours when required.

Salary

$75,000 - $85,000 per annum plus superannuation (depending on experience)
