IM Partners is recruiting on behalf of Roof & Render for a Sales Lead to join their established South Australian residential roofing business.

Roof & Render primarily specialises in complete roof replacements and also undertakes associated carpentry, decking, verandas, carports and outdoor roofed living areas.

This is a hands on, customer facing sales role for someone who can combine practical construction knowledge with genuine confidence, strong communication and the ability to win work.

You will spend much of your week meeting homeowners, inspecting properties, understanding what is required and guiding customers through the decision making process.
This is not a desk based estimating position.

The role
You will manage residential sales opportunities from initial contact through to agreement.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Speaking with prospective customers and understanding their needs
- Arranging and attending residential appointments
- Inspecting roofs and relevant site conditions
- Safely accessing roofs where required
- Taking photographs, video, measurements and other relevant information
- Explaining roofing issues and available solutions clearly
- Recommending appropriate roof replacement or associated building solutions
- Preparing and presenting quotations
- Following up opportunities professionally
- Asking for the business and closing sales
- Maintaining accurate customer and sales records
- Providing clear information to the delivery team once work is secured
- Building strong customer relationships that support referrals and Roof & Render's reputation

Roof & Render does not operate a high pressure sales model.

If the customer does not need the work, you tell them.

The expectation is that you understand the problem, explain it properly,



give the customer confidence in the proposed solution and then confidently ask for their business.

The kind of person we are looking for
This role needs someone who is equally comfortable on a roof and around a kitchen table.

You may come from roofing, roof plumbing, carpentry, residential construction, home improvement sales or another trade based environment.

Trade experience is highly regarded, but personality and communication matter just as much.

You need to be able to walk into a customer's home, make them comfortable, understand what matters to them and explain technical information in a way that makes sense.

Roof & Render is not looking for a stereotypical hard sell salesperson.

The right person will be credible, genuine and commercially confident.

Flexibility and autonomy
This is an outcomes based role rather than a strict 8 to 5 position.




The role is predominantly Monday to Friday, however customer appointments may occasionally need to occur early in the morning, later in the afternoon or on weekends.

In return, there is genuine flexibility in how you manage your time.
If you are meeting your appointments, managing your customers and delivering the required sales outcomes, you will have the autonomy to structure your week around both business and personal commitments.

The expectation is simple: manage your time well, look after the customer and deliver the result.

What this role is not
This is not primarily an estimating position.

If your experience is predominantly desk based quantity take offs, tendering or pricing plans without customer interaction, this is unlikely to be the right fit.
It is also not scripted sales.

You need to enjoy getting out, meeting people, looking at real properties, solving problems and turning good customer conversations into work.
