Cadence Connect has been exclusively retained to recruit a QA Engineer for our global mining and resources client, who are at the cutting edge of technology and engineering product offerings.

This is a hands-on QA opportunity where you shall play a pivotal role in establishing and shaping an onshore QA function, taking ownership of end-to-end testing and helping build the frameworks, environments and automation needed to support a complex product through its next phase of development.

The organisation operates across a substantial mining and resources environment, giving you the chance to work on technology where software, hardware and real-world operating environments intersect.

The product has undergone significant redevelopment and integration over the past 18 months, and the focus is now firmly on system integration, validation and release readiness.

This isn't simply about executing test cases. You will be in the thick of understanding how the complete system works, finding where things break, building better ways to evaluate them and providing the evidence and confidence required to release.

What you will be doing...

- Own and coordinate end-to-end QA activities across software releases, including release validation, test evidence, and readiness assessment.
- Plan and execute system, integration, regression and E2E testing across complex integrated environments.
- Establish, maintain, and continually improve automated testing platforms, test environments, and supporting infrastructure.
- Develop repeatable test processes, tooling, and test data to improve coverage, efficiency,



and defect detection.
- Plan and coordinate alpha testing, consolidating findings and translating them into actionable feedback for engineering and product teams.
- Perform hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and integrated system testing across software, interfaces, and connected hardware.
- Investigate, reproduce, and triage defects, working closely with engineering teams to identify root causes and drive resolution.
- Contribute to the development of QA processes, quality gates, and release readiness criteria.
- Clearly communicate defects, quality risks, residual risks, and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
- Help establish the foundations of a scalable onshore QA capability.

What we are looking for...

A technically strong QA Engineer who works beyond the software layer and understanding how an entire system behaves.

A Mechatronics background would be highly regarded, particularly where you have worked across the intersection of mechanical, electrical and software systems.

Experience with robotics, simulation, automated test rigs or complex connected systems would also be highly relevant.

Mining experience would be advantageous but is not essential. What's more important is your ability to understand complex systems, troubleshoot across hardware and software, and build robust testing capability.





You will also need to be comfortable travelling periodically to mine sites across WA, Central Queensland and the Hunter Valley when required.

You will ideally be equipped with...

- Experience across software QA, system testing, and release validation.
- Strong understanding of integration, system, regression and E2E testing.
- Experience building or improving test automation frameworks, environments, and tooling.
- Exposure to hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), simulation rigs, or equivalent integrated testing environments.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capability across software and hardware interfaces.
- An understanding of CI/CD and release pipelines, with the mindset to take ownership of quality through to production.
- Experience with tools such as Azure DevOps and Git, ideally within Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong defect analysis and root-cause investigation skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across engineering, product, and delivery teams.
