About the role

Join Optimal Group's field service team and apply your diagnostic skills to specialist energy systems. You'll service, fault-find, repair and commission Capstone microturbines and associated electrical and mechanical equipment. You'll use schematics, electrical testing, software tools and equipment data to diagnose faults on site and remotely, work safely at customer sites, keep customers informed and complete accurate electronic service reports. Travel is a core part of this role, not an occasional extra. Expect regional Victorian, interstate and international site work, regular overnight stays and periods away from home.

Key responsibilities

- Service, fault-find, repair and commission Capstone microturbines and associated electrical and mechanical equipment

- Use schematics, electrical testing, software tools and equipment data to diagnose faults on site and remotely

- Work safely at customer sites, keep customers informed and complete accurate electronic service reports

About you

- A current A-Grade electrical license and willingness and availability to travel as described

- Practical electrical fault-finding and testing experience, including reading schematics and control wiring diagrams

- Mechanical aptitude, secure working habits,



customer focus and confidence using software and electronic service records

- A full driver license, the right to work in Australia and a current passport that permits the required travel

- Must be willing to complete OEM certification and hold, or be willing and eligible to obtain, a Type B Gas License

- Experience with inverters, controls, BESS, PLCs or power generation is valuable
