This established technology services provider supports a diverse customer base across Australia, delivering reliable on-site IT support and hardware maintenance services. Due to continued demand in the Cairns region, they are seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to join their team.

Your new role

You will provide on-site technical support and hardware repair services to customers across Cairns and surrounding areas. Working independently, you will diagnose and repair laptops, desktops and related IT equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Diagnosing and resolving laptop and desktop hardware faults
- Replacing motherboards, screens, keyboards, batteries, SSDs and memory
- Completing hardware diagnostics, BIOS updates and firmware upgrades
- Testing and validating repaired devices
- Managing assigned service calls, schedules, travel and parts inventory
- Completing service documentation accurately and on time
- Meeting agreed SLA targets
- Providing qualified and customer-focused on-site support

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous experience in hardware repair, desktop support, field services or technical support
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills




- Hands-on experience replacing laptop and desktop components
- A positive understanding of Windows operating systems
- Experience supporting Dell, Lenovo or similar OEM hardware
- Strong communication, customer service and documentation skills
- The ability to work independently and manage multiple service requests
- A current Australian driving licence
- The flexibility to travel throughout Cairns and surrounding areas

Technical qualifications, vocational training or OEM certifications will be highly regarded but are not essential.
