About the team

As our IT General Controls Manager, you'll play a key role in establishing, maintaining, and continuously enhancing our IT General Controls (ITGC) framework, ensuring a robust control environment and supporting compliance with SOX requirements. Working closely with Technology, Risk, and Audit, you'll help ensure our controls are practical, effective, sustainable and ready for assurance.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technology controls professional who understands both sides of the equation: what good governance and controls look like, and how technology teams operate in practice.

How you'll make an impact





- Own and maintain the ITGC framework, control inventory, standards, ownership and evidence requirements across relevant technology environments.
- Oversee the performance and monitoring of controls across areas including access management, privileged access, change management and technology operations.
- Coordinate the technology SOX programme, including walkthroughs, recurring control activities, reporting and year-end readiness.
- Lead first-line quality reviews of control execution and supporting evidence ahead of formal audit and assurance activities.
- Manage technology control deficiencies, including root-cause analysis, remediation plans, milestones and closure evidence.
- Partner with Internal and External Audit, translating audit requirements into practical actions for technology teams.
- Work with control owners across Technology to improve accountability, consistency and control maturity.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen the workplace through standardisation, automation and continuous control monitoring.
- Build strong relationships across Technology and influence stakeholders at all levels to drive outcomes

Your attributes

You'll be an experienced, pragmatic controls professional who can apply a strong risk and compliance mindset while understanding the realities of delivering and operating technology

Ideally, you'll bring:

- 7+ years' relevant experience across technology controls, IT audit, SOX compliance, risk and controls, internal audit or a related discipline.
- Strong working knowledge of IT General Controls and SOX Section 404.
- Practical experience across core ITGC areas such as access management, privileged access, change management and technology operations.
- Demonstrated experience assessing control design, execution and evidence quality.




- Experience identifying and managing control deficiencies through to successful remediation.
- The ability to translate technical, risk and audit requirements into clear and practical business actions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to constructively challenge and influence without direct authority.
- Strong analytical capability, attention to detail and professional judgement.
- Experience within banking, financial services or another regulated environment will be highly regarded. We'd also value candidates who have worked across both an audit/advisory environment and an in-house technology controls or SOX function.
- Qualifications such as CISA, CA, CIA, CRISC or CISSP would be advantageous.
