The Business & Finance Manager is a pivotal, diverse, interesting and exciting role that focuses on the continued success of our vibrant clinical trial research program. Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for the financial management of the group, and the delivery of skilled business management support for the ALLG.

The Business & Finance Manager position is part of a team dedicated to research excellence in a progressive clinical trial research setting.

We are seeking an experienced finance leader who bring drive, sound judgement and expertise for the organisation and make this role their own. Experience in clinical trials, health, research or the not-for-profit sector will make you an ideal candidate for this role. This role is suited to a highly motivated self-starter who works with integrity and strong delivery.

Responsibilities include:

- Oversee financial systems, daily accounting operations, including reconciliations and journal entries

- Prepare and analyse financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.

- Prepare the annual statutory accounts and manage the annual financial audit

- Supervise the payroll function including employee policies and contract management

- Prepare the annual company budget and rolling forecast

- Review of clinical trial budget variations and prepare revised submissions for funding bodies.

- Reporting requirements for grants, including arranging for the external audit of grant acquittal statements, as necessary





- Manage the organisation’s banking and investment portfolio in accordance with the Cash Investment Policy, supporting prudent stewardship and sustainable growth.

- Coordinate the agenda and paper for reporting to the Finance and Audit Committee (FAC)

- Liaising with the board, managing the annual general meeting program, agenda and financial and business papers for reporting

- Act as company secretary for the Company

- Support and work closely with the leadership team to manage aspects of the research budget

- Produce financial reports and budgets for research funding submissions and grants.

- Direct management of our small, successful and driven team including: Accounts and Payroll Manager and Contracts Lead roles

KEY SKILLS AND CRITERIA

- Tertiary qualification in accounting CPA/CA qualified

- Experience in clinical trials, health, research or the Not For Profit sector will be well regarded

- Demonstrated expertise in financial management

- Experience with payroll & salary packaging

- Expert financial analysis and management reporting

- Experience with preparation of annual budget

- Hands on finance professional with ability to work autonomously across multiple projects with tight timelines

- Proficiency with Xero (or similar accounting software), Employment Hero (or similar payroll software),Microsoft Office suite and financial reporting tools.





- High attention to detail, excellent track record in producing accurate reports

- Ability to review processes and implement improvements to enhance existing methods

- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Personal confidence to liaise with a variety of health, science and research professionals
