The Role

The successful applicant should be able to teach Metalwork and Woodwork across secondary year levels (Years 7–10), delivering practical programs that develop students' design thinking, creativity, manufacturing skills and safe workshop practices.

Experience in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), digital manufacturing technologies (such as 3D printing and laser cutting), technical drawing, or contemporary fabrication processes would be highly regarded.

You would display a strong understanding of the Western Australian Design and Technologies Curriculum to be able to develop purposeful, inclusive, and engaging learning programs that meet the diverse needs of our students. You should create a secure, supportive, and well-managed workshop environment where students are encouraged to explore, create,



and achieve success.

The ability to maintain high standards of workshop safety, manage workshop resources and equipment, and foster a strong culture of safe work practices would be an important part of the role.

About You

We are ideally looking for an educator who:

- Is passionate about Design and Technology education and student achievement.
- Can confidently teach Metalwork and Woodwork, with experience in CAD, digital manufacturing technologies and contemporary fabrication processes highly regarded.
- Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills and values building positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Is able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a high-performing team.
- Uses engaging and innovative teaching practices that motivate and inspire learners.
- Displays effective classroom and workshop management with a strong focus on student safety.
- Display a strong commitment to workshop safety, risk management and maintaining an organised, well-resourced workshop environment.
