What we are looking for:

We are seeking an experienced Horticulturist to help maintain and enhance Council's parks, gardens and open spaces. Working within the Parks Maintenance team, you will provide specialist horticultural expertise and undertake hands-on maintenance activities that contribute to the presentation, health and sustainability of the region's open spaces. You will support the Team Leader with the planning and delivery of maintenance programs while helping achieve high-quality service outcomes for the community.

What your day will look like:

- Deliver scheduled and reactive horticultural maintenance across parks and open spaces
- Undertake specialist horticultural activities including planting, pruning and turf management
- Provide technical advice and support to team members on horticultural best practice
- Assist with planning and refining maintenance programs to improve service delivery
- Operate plant, equipment and vehicles in accordance with Council requirements
- Accurately record completed works using Council's mobile works management systems

What you’ll need for success:

- Current Queensland MR Driver Licence
- AC/DC Chemical Distribution Licence
- General Construction Induction (White Card)
- Certificate III in Horticulture (AQF Level 3) or related open space discipline
- Demonstrated experience delivering horticultural maintenance in parks, gardens or open space environments
- Experience in turf management, irrigation,



planting, pruning and pest and disease management
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to team outcomes
- Sound understanding of WHS, environmental and risk management requirements
- Well-developed communication skills and ability to provide technical horticultural advice
