About the role

The Director, Compliance and Enforcement ensures CAV's regulatory compliance and enforcement functions are effectively fulfilled in accordance with statutory responsibilities and government and community priorities. They are a key member of the CAV leadership team.

The Director sets and drives the strategic direction of CAV's Compliance and Enforcement Branch in collaboration with the Executive Director, Regulatory Services & Director, CAV, to whom the role reports, and leads the daily operations of the Branch.

The General Managers of the Intelligence, Investigations and Compliance, and Regulatory Strategy teams report to the Director, as well as two roles in the Director's office. The Director also maintains an important role in helping to oversee the day-to-day operational work of the CAV Legal team, liaising closely with the General Manager, CAV Legal and the DGS General Counsel to whom this team reports.

About you

Key accountabilities for this role include leading the Branch, which is responsible for intelligence gathering and monitoring, investigations, compliance, enforcement and providing input into regulatory policy reform, to deliver great services and functions fostered by a respectful, inclusive,



protected and productive workplace and work culture; overseeing, managing and evaluating intelligence programs, compliance risks and complex investigations and enforcement activities; liaising with other government regulatory and law enforcement agencies; building partnerships with stakeholders including consumer bodies and industry; and providing expert advice to the Director, CAV, department and Minister.
