Because their markets operate 24/7/365, they are establishing Sydney as their critical APAC operational hub. We are looking for an ambitious Market Operations Specialist to join as a founding member on the ground in Sydney.

The Market Operations Associate role sits at the heart of a cutting-edge prediction market platform, ensuring markets run smoothly, fairly, and reliably for institutional clients. The position blends real-time market monitoring, client support, and operational excellence with hands-on collaboration across engineering, product, and leadership teams. Success in this role means rapidly resolving mission-critical issues, maintaining robust operational controls, and using data and automation to continually improve the trading environment. It offers a strong platform for an operations-focused professional to deepen expertise in trading systems, market structure, and financial technology.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop deep expertise in the company’s trading systems, market functionality, order types, and external interfaces.

- Provide timely technical and non-technical support to market participants, including FCMs, clearing banks, and institutional partners, resolving access and usage issues across trading, clearing, and data services.

- Monitor system integrity and the overall trading environment in real time to help ensure a fair, orderly, and stable market.

- Maintain and update listed event contracts, ensuring product specifications, trading parameters, and settlement terms are accurate and consistently applied.

- Execute, document, and refine operational procedures and controls that underpin daily market operations.





- Gather and synthesize user feedback, preparing transparent documentation and coordinating communications when escalating critical issues to engineering and technology operations teams.

- Design, build, and maintain simple automation scripts and tools that streamline manual processes and reduce operational risk for the Market Operations function.

- Collaborate closely with Technology Operations, Product Management, Sales, Quality Assurance, Compliance, and Regulatory teams to support initiatives, resolve cross-functional issues, and enhance the client experience.

- Participate in an on-call rotation and flexibly adjust working hours to support an event-driven market schedule and urgent client needs.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience.

- At least 2 years of experience in trade support, quantitative trade consulting, middle-office operations, compliance, or systems engineering within an institutional trading, investment bank, custodian, brokerage, or exchange environment.

- Proven ability to operate in real-time, high-visibility situations with strong judgment, composure, and problem-solving skills.

- Disciplined attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy, operational controls, and documentation.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Experience with (OR demonstrated capacity to quickly acquire new concepts and tools), programming or scripting (e.g., Python and/or SQL) to automate reconciliations & settlement data.

- Evidence of initiative and intellectual curiosity,



with a track record of delving beyond surface-level issues to build subject matter expertise.

- Willingness and availability to support an event-driven work schedule, including participation in on-call support as required.

- Excellent communication skills.

Nice to Have:

- Professional exposure to electronic trading platforms, institutional brokerage, exchanges, or US futures market structure.

- Hands-on Python programming experience, including writing simple scripts to automate manual processes or support operational tasks.

- Data analysis experience using Python or SQL, including the ability to query large datasets and interpret results to inform decision-making.

- Familiarity with automation scheduling or orchestration tools such as Rundeck, or similar platforms used in production operations.

Note: This is a 7-day-a-week role, with a rotating roster for 24/7 coverage. Sydney hours are typically 8am - 4:45 pm on a rotation. This will require some weekend work, which you can do from home if you choose.

BENEFITS

- Salary between $100,000 to $130,000 AUD base plus 12% Super.
