Job description:

The Regional Manager leads the regulatory compliance activities for earth resources operations across their regions in Victoria, including large-scale mines, quarries and petroleum operations. The Regional Manager provides direction to a regional team and supports development and implements planning, reporting and training frameworks to drive consistent, risk-based regulatory outcomes in line with legislative and operational requirements.

Support the implementation and continuous improvement of regulatory systems and practices, and provide timely, evidence-based advice to senior executives to inform decision-making.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

- A current valid Victorian driver's licence is mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience providing authoritative, evidence based advice to senior leaders, including preparing complex, high impact briefs, reports and submissions to inform and influence decision making.
- Strong expertise in regulatory design and delivery, including developing and implementing strategic, risk-based compliance programs that balance education and enforcement, and establishing fit-for-purpose frameworks, policies and standards to achieve proportionate and effective regulatory outcomes.
- A tertiary qualification in a compliance-related discipline, environmental or earth sciences, engineering, or emergency management would be well regarded.
- Operational experience of the mining, quarrying or petroleum activities or a comparable high-risk industry would be advantageous.

There are three ongoing positions available. The work locations for these positions are Melbourne CBD, Bendigo, and Ballarat respectively, with hybrid work arrangements available.
