About the role

As a Mechanical Fitter within the Copper Refinery Maintenance team, you'll play an important role in keeping our operation running safely and reliably. Reporting to the Maintenance Shift Supervisor, you'll work across a wide range of fixed plant equipment, carrying out preventative maintenance, fault-finding and repairs to maximise plant availability and reliability. This role offers excellent exposure to complex industrial equipment while allowing you to further develop your trade skills within a supportive and safety-focused team environment.

Key responsibilities:

- Carry out planned and breakdown maintenance on refinery fixed plant equipment
- Diagnose mechanical faults and perform corrective maintenance activities
- Conduct equipment servicing, repairs and overhauls
- Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
- Support preventative maintenance activities to minimise downtime
- Maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping and operational compliance
- Work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams to achieve operational goals

About You





You're a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter who takes pride in doing quality work and getting the job done safely. You're someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with your hands, and being part of a team that looks out for one another. You bring a positive attitude, strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to continuously improve. Whether you're troubleshooting a fault, completing a shutdown task or contributing ideas for improvement, you're motivated to make a difference every shift.

You will bring:

- Mechanical Fitting and Turning Trade Qualification or equivalent
- Experience in heavy industry or manufacturing environments
- Exposure to hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Solid fault-finding and troubleshooting capability
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics
- Sound communication and teamwork skills
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- Current Australian manual driver's licence

Highly Regarded

- Forklift Licence
- Basic Rigging or Dogging Ticket
- Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Ticket
