About the role

Archmap Group is seeking a reliable, practical and hands-on Site Carpenter to join our construction team across Melbourne. This is a site-based role suited to an experienced carpenter who takes pride in getting the job done properly. The position focuses on day-to-day carpentry and general site support, including minor repairs, defect rectification, make-good works, general fixing and finishing tasks. You will also assist with routine site upkeep, follow up on outstanding works, and help ensure day-to-day site activities run smoothly.

Key responsibilities

- Day-to-Day Carpentry: Carry out general carpentry, fixing, minor repairs, defect rectification, make-good works and finishing tasks across construction sites.

- Site Support & Upkeep: Assist with routine site checks and general site upkeep, keeping work areas safe, tidy and organized.

- Task Follow-Up & Close-Out: Take ownership of assigned carpentry and minor site works, ensuring tasks are completed properly and followed through to close-out.

- Site Communication: Communicate effectively with site workers, subcontractors, suppliers and project team members to coordinate day-to-day works.

- Progress Updates: Take site photos, provide straightforward progress updates and report any issues requiring further attention.

- Quality & Workmanship: Complete all work to an appropriate standard and in accordance with project drawings, instructions and site requirements.

About you





- Has relevant carpentry qualifications and solid hands-on construction experience.

- Has strong practical carpentry skills and can confidently complete routine site carpentry tasks independently.

- Can read and understand construction drawings and follow site instructions.

- Understands general construction processes and acceptable workmanship standards.

- Has a practical, flexible and solutions-focused approach to site work.

- Takes responsibility for assigned tasks and follows them through to completion.

- Is reliable, organised and able to work effectively with site teams.

- Is comfortable handling a variety of smaller carpentry, rectification and general site tasks as required.

- Relevant carpentry qualifications and practical on-site experience.

- A valid Australian White Card, current Australian Driver Licence, reliable personal vehicle for travelling between sites, own standard carpentry tools, and full working rights in Australia.
