About the role

As a Job Placement Officer, you will play an important role in supporting Workforce Australia participants to move into sustainable employment.

You will work closely with Job Mentors, participants and employers to identify suitable employment opportunities, promote participants to employers and support successful job placements.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify suitable employment opportunities for a participant.
- Work closely with Job Mentors to understand participant skills, experience,



interests and employment goals.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with local employers.
- Undertake employer engagement and reverse marketing activities to identify potential employment opportunities.
- Promote and advocate for participants to prospective employers.
- Match participants with suitable vacancies based on their skills, experience and employment goals.
- Assist participants with applications, resumes, interviews and other job-search activities where required.
- Coordinate and support interviews, job offers and employment commencements.
- Maintain accurate participant and employer records.
- Monitor employment outcomes and follow up with employers after placement.
- Work collaboratively with the wider Workforce Australia team to achieve employment and performance targets.
- Maintain a strong understanding of local labour market opportunities and employer needs.
- Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with Workforce Australia requirements, policies and procedures.

Skills and Experience

- Experience in employment services, recruitment, sales, customer service or a similar people-focused environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build rapport with participants and employers from diverse backgrounds.
- Confidence engaging with employers and promoting participants.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team.
- A solutions-focused and proactive approach.
- Strong computer and administration skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- A commitment to providing culturally respectful and inclusive services.
- Able to obtain a standard strength myID.
- Able to pass a police check.
- Valid WWCC - Blue Card.
