We have (12-Month Contract - Extend) Principal Architect - AI Infrastructure role available in Melbourne.

You will provide technical authority and architecture governance across large-scale enterprise AI infrastructure programs.

This is a senior Design Authority role covering the complete HPC, Compute–Network–Storage architecture. You will ensure these domains operate as one integrated, scalable and commercially viable AI infrastructure platform.

This is not a hands-on engineering role. You will lead through architecture, governance, technical decision-making and senior customer engagement, supported by specialist Domain Architects and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

- Own and govern AI infrastructure reference architectures / Gold Standards.
- Provide technical authority across Compute, Network and Storage.
- Lead Architecture Review Boards and approve architectural deviations.
- Review HLDs, LLDs, BoMs, SOWs and technical delivery plans.
- Act as Design Authority for major AI infrastructure engagements.
- Lead and mentor Domain Architects and technical delivery teams.
- Govern technical risks, dependencies, acceptance criteria and delivery quality.




- Work directly with senior customer stakeholders and technical Design Authorities.
- Support pre-sales, solution development, proposals and commercial discussions.

Technical Workplace:
Strong knowledge across AI/HPC infrastructure, with depth in at least one domain and credible breadth across the others:

- NVIDIA SuperPOD / BasePOD / DGX / HGX / MGX / NVL72
- InfiniBand / Spectrum-X / Ethernet / RDMA
- VAST / WEKA / DDN / Pure
- NVIDIA Cloud Provider and Cisco AI Factory
- Private and public cloud environments
- Kubernetes / OpenShift
- Ansible / Python / Terraform

Experience Required:

- Principal / Lead Architect-level experience in AI, HPC, infrastructure or data centre environments.
- Strong understanding of the interaction between Compute, Network and Storage.
- Experience acting as a Design Authority or leading architecture governance.
- Experience delivering complex, multi-disciplinary technology programs.
- Strong customer-facing consulting and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial awareness across BoM, SOW, TCO and infrastructure delivery.
- Experience leading and mentoring senior technical teams.
