Position: Safeguards & Reporting Junior Officer
Reports To: Quality Safeguards & Reporting Manager
Location: Burpengary
Hours: 8am – 4pm

About the Role
We support clients with complex health conditions, intellectual disabilities, autism, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and significant behaviours of concern in a structured, contained environment.
You will collaborate with a skilled team to deliver accurate, timely and compliant internal and external reports, analyse data, and provide recommendations that support legislative compliance and the highest standard of client care.
This is a rewarding role for an experienced safeguards and reporting professional who is empathetic, resilient, and calm under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete all internal and external reporting to meets company and compliance requirements, in an accurate and in a timely manner.
- Complete restrictive practice reporting to the NDIS commission’s database accurately and completely within the predetermined timeframes.
- Follow and prepare draft NDIS reportable documentation for approval by team Manager.
- Process incident and complaint reports as they are received from internal stakeholders and draft risk assessments in response.
- Communicate with all stakeholders regarding ongoing investigations.
- Complete fortnightly and quarterly investigation history summaries, for Operations fortnightly and seasonal stakeholder reports.
- Identify and analyse trends in reporting data.
- Contribute positively to the Safeguards and Reporting Process Development
- Assist with drafting applications and related supporting documentation to meet industry requirements.
- Triage, coordinate, and support internal quality audits, including allocation, tracking, follow‑up, and closure of audit actions.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of incident, complaint, restrictive practice, and departmental documentation prior to submission or approval.
- Review departmental documentation for consistent application of compliance, safeguards and quality requirements.
- Monitor corrective actions and ensure completed tasks are formally closed with appropriate evidence retained.
About you:
You will bring proven experience in conducting impartial investigations, compiling and interpreting information, and delivering accurate responses to complex matters with clarity and professionalism. You will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to provide objective analysis of complex issues to support informed decision-making. You will also be able to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines in a quick-paced environment, work collaboratively with diverse teams, and operate effectively with minimal supervision.
Experience in healthcare, disability services or not-for-profit organisations is highly valued. You will be able to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities in safeguards data and apply a continuous improvement mindset to accountability, documentation quality and audit readiness. You will also collaborate confidently with operational,
clinical and leadership stakeholders in high-risk or time-critical situations.
Essential Requirements
You will have a working knowledge of the application of Federal and State Disability and Human Rights legislation and associated compliance reporting including:
- Disability Services Act 2006 (Qld and Victoria)
- National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 and Amendments
- National Disability Insurance Scheme Rules and Regulations
- NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators
- Experience in Healthcare/Disability Services and not for profit organisations
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Forms, Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
- Working knowledge of NDIS compliance requirements.
- Experience using incident management systems, reporting tools, and document control platforms is highly desirable.
- Experience coordinating internal audits, maintaining action registers, and tracking corrective actions to completion with evidence
- Practical experience reviewing or supporting restrictive practice reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and required timeframes are met
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (Yellow Card), or willing to obtain
- Queensland Working with Children Check Clearance (Blue Card), or willing to obtain
- Current Driver License
