An opportunity has become available for a fixed-term contract for a Payroll Officer based West of the CBD. This role offers hybrid working opportunities.

Your new role

As Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate end-to-end payroll across weekly, fortnightly and monthly pay cycles. You will manage employee records, new starters, changes, leave, terminations, adjustments, allowances, deductions and back payments.
You will also support payroll reporting, reconciliations, journal preparation and statutory obligations, including PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax and workers' compensation. Working closely with People and Communications, Finance and operational stakeholders, you will assist with payroll queries, audits, system enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A minimum of three years' payroll experience within a medium to large organisation




- Strong end-to-end payroll processing experience
- Sound knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation and superannuation
- Experience interpreting modern awards, enterprise agreements and employment conditions
- Payroll and time and attendance systems experience
- Exposure to reconciliations, reporting and payroll accounting concepts
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working across systems
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management
- A customer-focused approach and the ability to build trusted stakeholder relationships
