We are currently seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join our Oceania Meat Processing team in Laverton. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring a protected work environment, meeting production targets, maintaining budget control, and managing resources efficiently. The role involves taking charge of productivity, quality assurance inventory management and people management, as well as driving continuous improvement initiatives.

The key responsibilities for this position include:

- Adhere to all OHS/WHS legislation and Ridley’s OHS&E; systems by promoting a safe workplace, reporting hazards and incidents, and supporting health and safety initiatives. Ensure proper use of equipment and follow up on safety incidents with thorough investigations and preventative actions.
- Maintain accurate production SOPs and ensure team members are skilled, trained, and performing to expectations.
- Manage plant resources efficiently to meet production targets, including planning for Change overs/shutdowns and end of week cleaning.



Support continuous improvement by identifying improvement opportunities and implementing the agreed actions. Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to resolve operational issues quickly.
- Adhere to quality systems ensuring full traceability of products and supporting quality and commercial teams in resolving production-related customer concerns.

The key skills and experience required for this role include

- Ability to visualise and implement improvement programs (people & manufacturing processes)
- High attention to detail and hands on approach-leading by example.
- Experience with continuous improvement programs and initiatives
- Demonstrated people leader and able to build credibility and confidence with team members
- Demonstrated experience with production planning, control and measurement methodologies
- Demonstrated experience managing, leading and developing employees in a production environment
- Sound knowledge of relevant OH&S; and Environmental policies, legislation, and other statutory management standards and requirements
- Experience in safety & quality management systems
- Current driver’s license
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Processes
- Certificate IV (or above) in management or equivalent in short course training
- Technical /mechanical aptitude will be an advantage.
